| Chan left Vietnam, where she was born and raised, to further her education at Boston University in Massachusetts majoring in Business Administration. Following her dream of becoming a designer, she later moved to Los Angeles and enrolled at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising earning a degree in Fashion Design in 1975. | |
| Chan opens her own boutique in Rolling Hills Estates carrying European designer clothing and accessories for women. | |
| Chan decided that although she loved all of the buying trips and truly enjoyed dressing her customers, her passion was in designing.
Her company started with 4 employees producing her first jewelry collection using precious metals, semi-precious stones and pearls. | |
| Chan’s desire to follow her passion continued to expand, her RTW collection was born. | |
| In November, 2006 CHAN LUU launches The Online Store, where shoppers can purchase Chan's original creations, from fashion jewelry to fine jewelry. The store even features popular vintage CHAN LUU designs that have been brought back exclusively for the online store. | |
| CHAN LUU has a Corporate Showroom in downtown Los Angeles.
CHAN LUU opens her New York Corporate Showroom in July 2005. CHAN LUU opens permanent showrooms in Dallas and Atlanta in 2006. She has taken her business globally with major retail stores such as Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bergdorf Goodman in the U.S., Harvey Nichols in London, Isetan and Mitsukoshi in Japan and many other specialty stores. Chan’s pieces have been featured in Vogue, Elle, Glamour, Harper’s Bazaar and InStyle. Her designs have been worn by celebrities such as Jennifer Aniston, Mischa Barton, Sandra Bullock, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Drew Barrymore, Janet Jackson… Chan is an avid tennis player and scuba diver. She also enjoys gardening and cooking for her friends. She currently resides in Pacific Palisades with her dogs, Henry and Benji. |
